The Spring Consignment Sale I am participating in is one in my area. It is being organized by a different group than the winter sale I participated in a few months ago.

If you are interested in selling your items, you can do a search for local consignment sales (most organizations do two a year) or check this site for a list of sales in your state.

Usually, you receive between 60-70% of the selling price of your items. Sometimes, there is a small administrative fee (around $5). If is a great way to get rid of clutter around the house. Most sales take maternity wear, children's clothing (even junior sizes), strollers, toys, bedroom decor...anything kid related.

Typically, you price your own items and mark them with your seller number. Most sales offer half price on items on the last day. You can, however, determine which of your items you do not want sold at half price. Also, you can decide if you'd like to pick up your unsold items or send them off to charity.

It's a great way to declutter. Plus the check you receive right after the sale is a plus! Just don't be like me and go out and buy more stuff with the money you earn from the sale!
