Swoozie Ramblings

Still here.

I'm going through the hundreds of photos from our vacation. We really did have a great time. Other than leaving a brand new pair of Stride Rite shoes by the creek, our trip was fantastic!

We drove almost all the way on Tuesday night and stopped around midnight for the night. It was nice since when we awoke on Wednesday, we only had a short trip before we arrived at our destination.

We spent some time on Wednesday at Cade's Cove while waiting to check in to our cabin. Once we settled in, we went out for barbecue and a little shopping.

Thursday, we spent the day at Dollywood and despite all the trips we have ever made to Tennessee, this was our actual first trip to Dollywood. It was enjoyable, but I think better suited to older children. Anyway, Owen really enjoyed the train ride and now says, "All Aboard," while playing with his train set.

Friday, we decided to hang out in Gatlinburg and for the first time visited Ober Gatlingburg. We really had a great time there. The lines were short, there were a lot of rides Owen could ride with his Daddy. Plus, we went ice skating for a couple of hours.

Saturday, we woke up and headed to North Carolina for our visit to the Biltmore. I enjoyed the audio tour as we traveled around the estate. I can't imagine living in such a gigantic house. I know that the Vanderbilt's home was always full of butlers, maids, hired help, etc. But, I think I'd be scared to death to stay there overnight.

Sunday, we enjoyed a second day at the Biltmore and shopped in the village. We headed home around 2 PM and stopped in Atlanta at Bass Pro Shops to stretch our legs. Owen chose an orange fishing pole and tried to catch a fish out of the aquarium there.

Vacation is always fun, but it is so nice to be home and back to our routine.
