There are reasons why I live outside the big city! It was touch and go but I finally made it here to San Antonio. Seriously, the trip was enjoyable and I actually surprised myself at my direction abilities.
I decided to head down to Rivercenter Mall this evening. There is so much to look at and experience. I took a ride along the Paseo del Rio on a little three mile riverboat cruise. It was interesting to hear the history of the Riverwalk, see the shops, and restaurants. There were some unique shops such as one named "Primarily Purple" and "Cats, Cats, Cats." I spent quite a lot of time in Sanrio. It was pretty hard walking out of there without the Hello Kitty microwave which was on clearance for $39.99.
Tomorrow it's La Villita (San Antonio's oldest surviving neighborhood, alive with artists, craftsmen, shops, and restaurants) and Market Square (32 shops at "El Mercado," and 80 specialty shops in Farmers' Market Plaza). Oh, and of course to the convention...that is the reason I am here, yeah?
