Today, I made Pineapple Banana Bread, using this recipe and it was delicious! I've already had two slices...okay three if you count that last little sliver.

I'm still taking a picture a day. Some pictures are way better than others, but that is okay. Some days are better than others. Today is actually day 92. Wow!

I've participated in some more swaps on swap-bot and figured I'd take some pictures of the swaps before I sent them off to their new homes.

This one was the "Fill an Easter Egg Swap." The little chick was filled with interesting paper clips/brads, the carrot was filled with acrylic stamps/supplies, and the small egg was filled with buttons.

This was the "Whimsy Jar--Aqua & Red Series" and it was my first attempt at a whimsy jar. It was fun putting this one together and searching for contents in just those two colors.

Just because he's so cute and no, he's not being sent off anywhere as part of a swap. ;)

Cupcakes

I love cupcakes! Who doesn't, really? I made these embellishments using my MS cupcake punch, scalloped punch, circle cutter, glitter, and cardstock. It was super simple and once I started, I couldn't stop. I think I made thirty or so.

I recently participated in a "Yummy Cupcake Swap." It was fun putting this package together. I sent my partner cupcake pushpins, a cupcake cookbook, card, cupcake liners, 1/2 yard of cupcake fabric (Hobby Lobby), cupcake painting kit, lunchbag, cupcake ribbon (JoAnn's), some of my embellishments, and that brown thing is a cupcake apron. I hope she likes it!

Excuse the glare on the picture, it was nightime and I had to get the picture taken to package the swap to mail the next morning.

Project 365 (Day 73)

Matching pajamas make me happy. I love how Jack is holding Owen's hand in this picture.

Monday, March 9 (Day 72)

Planet Hero Saturn made his way to our house after a long and frustrating search. I thought I would never find this guy. I had to resort to Ebay. I'm still searching for Pluto and then he'll have all the "planet guys."

Sunday, March 8 (Day 71)

Why is it that they can fall asleep in our bed, but not in their own? While I'm asking questions, why is it that they can't sleep with their heads at the top of the bed and their feet at the bottom?

(Day 68)

We recently decided to pay my car off, so it will be sticking around with us for a long time. I really do love my car, especially the heated seats. I better love it, since I'll have to drive it until the wheels fall off. Which really may happen sooner than later since I seem to run into curbs often with those rims that stick out like that. Who invented those and what made them think it was a good idea?

Wednesday, March 4 (Day 67)

A picture of my cell phone. I thought it would be neat to look back on this picture years from now and see what has changed. I love this phone, especially since I can use it to get on the internet whenever I need to check on something.

Tuesday, March 3 (Day 66)

Tommy took Owen to work with him this morning. I was getting ready to take Jack with me to run some errands and I heard him over by the window saying something about a bee. Next thing I know, he's using a box of diapers to try to get a fly swatter down out of the laundry room. I gave it to him just thinking he was playing with a pretend bug or something.

Next thing I know, I hear him saying, "Shoo, bee, shoo." I walked over with the camera because it was just too cute not to get a picture. I guess I should have been worried that he found a real bee. But, he was actually trying to swat at the dust particles that were shining from the sun coming in the window.

Monday, March 2 (Day 65)

Owen has never really been interested in cars, but since Jack loves them, he's been playing with his brother every once in a while. He likes to collect them and line them up to see how many we have alike. Too many.

Sunday, March 1 (Day 64)

I spent the better part of two weeks on the phone to HP about the computer in the office. It's been in for repair before and still isn't fixed. The phone calls are never shorter than an hour and I felt like throwing the tower out in the garbage several times.

Even though this picture shows everything in working order, it's not. The computer crash dumps and restarts every 5-10 minutes. Even though we don't spend a great deal of time in there using that computer, it's still frustrating.

(Day 63)

He was supposed to be cleaning up the playroom, but instead he was making faces with the wooden fruit from the play kitchen.

Friday, February 27 (Day 62)

Today we had a small playdate at our house. Terra, Hunter and Lilly came over and it was so nice to visit with them. All the kids found the dress up basket and it was hilarious watching them take parts of different costumes to come up with their own.

I have a picture of all the children dressed up in mismatched parts of costumes which I love, but I can't post here. It will be in our Project 365 album, for sure.

Thursday, February 26 (Day 61)

Owen just wanted me to take a picture of him. I'm not sure why. Usually it's me asking for him to let me take his picture.

Project 365 (Day 60)

I'm not quite sure what they were doing, but Jack was laughing so hard he couldn't stop! I love the look on his face in these pictures. Just spending time with daddy.

One Long Post to Appease My Mother
Wow! It's been awhile! I can't say where the time has gone. I've been participating in some swaps on TwoPeas as well as Swapbot, but other than that, not much else is happening

Tommy and I were able to get away for a couple of hours on Saturday which was nice. We ended up eating at Zea's and just stopping and shopping at various places on the way home. It felt kind of strange not having the boys with us, so we really didn't know what to do with ourselves.

I did find the time to order these for Jack. He was so excited he loves "Doo." That is all I hear all day long, "I wanna watch Doo now." Nope, no please...we're working on it. ;)

Owen's favorite new saying is, "What the for Pete's sake." The first time he said this, he said the first two words and then paused for a few seconds before he finished the rest of the sentence. I was paying close attention because I was worried how he was going to finish the statement. Not that anyone talks that way around here, or anything.

The following are for Project 365 from the past week or so:

Project 365 Tuesday, February 24 (Day 59)

I'm really glad we have a play room, because if we didn't, I think I'd lose my sanity if this mess was all over the house instead of confined to one room. The play room is usually kept pretty clean, but since the boys are playing more together instead of parallel, these messes tend to occur more often.

Project 365 Monday, February 23 (Day 58)

When we wake up each morning, I bring my laptop to the corner of the bar so I can jump on the computer when I get a free moment. It's like my connection to the outside world.

Project 365 Sunday, February 22 (Day 57)

This Handy Manny toolbox (given to Jack from Aunt Cindy for Christmas) seems like a fifth member of the family. Jack is constantly carrying it around the house and trying to take it everywhere. I'm constanly making sure all the tools are present and accounted for.

Project 365 Saturday, February 21 (Day 56)

Tommy and I spent the day out while Thomas and Kathy kept the boys. We were able to go out and eat lunch, but we brought back a toy for the boys. This racetrack was a big hit with the kids as well as the grown-ups.

Project 365 Friday, February 20 (Day 55)

Pictures from our playdate today. Jack could not understand why the dog had the ball in her mouth and didn't want to give it up. The boys had a lot of fun playing with their friends and expending some energy outside. It was a beautiful day.

Project 365 Thursday, February 19 (Day 54)

Tonight I went to "Stamp Club" where we learned a bleaching technique. I've been really into stamping lately...not just collecting supplies either. I sent this card to mom after I snapped a picture of it, of course.

Project 365 Wednesday, February 18 (Day 53)

Jack's hands are in his hair often. He falls asleep holding his hair and twirling it around his fingers. He usually does it when he's tired, fussy, or concentrating. We are mindful of this fact when it's time for haircuts and we have to leave enough hair up there for him to grab.

Project 365 Tuesday, February 17 (Day 52)

A rare occurance around here. I couldn't help but to take a picture. Also, I just love those little boxer shorts!

Project 365 Monday, February 16 (Day 51)

Jack found a net that was supposed to be hidden away. The boys tend to try to catch each other until the nets are confiscated. Today, he actually decided he'd hunt for "feesh.

Project 365 (Day 49)

My niece, Erica and me

We had a great Valentine's Day here. We went to Jackie's (sister's) house to celebrate...and eat seafood.

Project 365 (Day 38)
Photobucket

Actually took the time today to get IN FRONT of the camera with the boys. Not the best picture, no make-up, crazy hair, and headed to the gym. But I needed this picture with these two. Especially today.

And another picture with the most willing participant.

Project 365 for yesterday (Day 37) is a scan of my passing test scores for the first part of the teacher certification test. The test that I took on the day that I left the calculator IN THE CAR. I have to admit to worrying about the results of that test for the last month, just because I had to work all the math out in a hurry to get finished. Thank goodness I passed. I could have gotten a much better score, but I'm trying not to let that bother me and thanking God for small favors.

Two New Cards

I woke up this morning, with a terrible headache. When Tommy gets home, I am seriously going back to bed. I have been productive this morning, finishing laundry (yuck) and making my final two cards for the 2009 Year in Cards Class (Class 1 for January) over at Two Peas in a Bucket.

Flower Card

Paper Studio cardstock
Provo Craft paper (green glitter dots)
Paper Studio chipboard heart
Prima flower (Calypso tin)
Sticko button
ribbon-unknown

Live*Laugh*Love Card

I didn't like the pale pink on top of the hot pink so I actually broke out the chalks for this one. I hadn't used them in years. Once I chalked over the pale pink I liked it a little better. I'm not in love with this card, but it will do for now.

Paper Studio cardstock
Provo Craft paper (tan glitter dots)
Live, Laugh, Love sticker-Making Memories
Flower Brads-Making Memories
Flower Punch-EK Success
ribbon & buttons--unknown

Photobucket

A new toy
Tonight after dinner (San Miguel) we went to Target for a few things. It's funny when Tommy goes shopping with us and he's able to see just how hard it is to walk out of the store without a toy. To be fair, he doesn't give me that hard of a time, but sometimes he can't resist saying something whenever there is a new toy in the house. Tonight, Jack got this car carrier and Owen came home with a new Planet Hero (Moon, Lunar).

Project 365 (Day 32)
Photobucket

My top four favorite shows at this moment in time. Unfortunately, these aren't the only shows I can't miss, just the top four. I'm a reality television addict, I think! I couldn't wait to come home from the gym to watch American Idol tonight.

Project 365 (Day 31)

Photobucket

Owen fell asleep in the car on the way home from church (MOPS). I woke him up because he usually doesn't take naps and I needed him to walk inside so I could carry Jack inside who was also asleep. He told me he wasn't sleepy when I took him out of his seat, but I just told him to go lie down in his chair and take a little rest. When I walked inside with Jack, not even a minute later, I found him asleep on the rug in the kitchen. He had stayed awake long enough to take off his shoes.

Project 365 (Day 30)

Photobucket

Typical Jack, hamming it up for the camera. Just wouldn't be a true picture of him without that pacifier and his little squinted eye.

Project 365 (Day 29)
Photobucket

Owen was particularly proud that he dressed the bear outside Jack's room from the basket of dress-up clothes. I think this bear is having an identity crisis. Is he a knight or a construction worker?

Project 365 (Day 28)

Photobucket

Jack loves to get his teeth brushed. He always wants more toothpaste on his brush and gets sad when we won't give it to him. Most of the time, he goes first because he's harder to catch since he knows teeth brushing at night means it's time to go to bed.

Project 365 (Day 27)
Love Card

The first of my contributions to Two Peas in a Bucket's Year in Cards Class. I plan on making two more before the end of the month, but this little card took forever. I just couldn't decide what color scheme or accents I wanted.

MM Cheeky Jigsaw Shapes (heart)
Clear UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel)
Provo Craft paper

Thursday, January 22, 2009

Tonight I went out to dinner with some friends. We ate at a local Japanese steak house. The food was excellent and it was great to get out of the house for a while, as well.

Project 365 (Day 26)

Owen is really into Planet Heroes lately. Every time we go to the store we have to look and see if they have one he doesn't already own. He's really learning a lot about the planets from the movies, comic books, and by asking tons of questions.

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

I can't believe I have actually kept up with taking a picture a day for 25 days, so far. The album is coming together and the process is fairly simple. Putting the pictures on my blog really helps when I have the hard copies back and the journaling is already there. I just have to copy it.

Project 365 (Day 25)

I am addicted to magazines and the mail carrier can attest to this fact. The magazines pictured are just the ones I currently subscribe to, not the ones I purchase at the store. My all time favorite is Paper Crafts. My new favorites are the Scrapbook Trends magazines. I always have to have some gossip magazines in the rotation for good measure, as well.

Not pictured: Martha Stewart Living, Craft, and the boys' magazines (Highlights Hidden Pictures, Animal Baby, and Your Big Backyard).

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

I've been a little sick with a head cold these past few days. Yesterday, I grabbed a DayQuil and headed out for my normal hour at the gym for Turbo Kick at 5:30. Today, I just couldn't make it, so I stayed home and made spaghetti instead. I thought I had a can of Prego in the pantry, but when I went to retrieve it, it turned out to be a can of salsa I remembered seeing and not spaghetti sauce.

My easy recipe turned a little more complex when I had to make my own sauce. Since I'm a fan of the sweetness of canned sauce, I always have to add sugar to homemade spaghetti sauce, though.

Anyway, we settled down early around here and watched American Idol. The boys gathered around the computer to watch the latest episode of Planet Heroes that we don't own on DVD.

Project 365 (Day 24)

The boys gather around Tommy's laptop to watch the latest episode of Planet Heroes. Owen loves to play games on the computer, but he makes me hide the mouse when Jack comes around. I'm guessing he thinks Jack is a little too young for computer games.
