Swoozie Ramblings

After the blasted state test, I am planning a unit on the fifty states. Would anyone be willing to host a Flat Stanley for a few days? Flat Stanley is a character from a children's book of the same name. To make a long story short he ends up flattening himself and mailing himself off somewhere...My class makes Flat Stanleys and sends them away to other states. The host/hostess receives the Flat Stanley and writes a letter back about his adventures in their city. Some people send a postcard, pictures, items from their state. People have taken pictures of Flat Stanley on the beach, etc. Mainly it is a great activity for my children to learn a bit about the states. I would appreciate it as most of my students have family only in Texas and Mexico.
